We’d love you to join us next week for music, dance, food and storytelling to celebrate Refugee Week with the Festival of Sanctuary. Refugee Week offers an annual opportunity to celebrate the creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary, and their enormous contributions to our city.
Last year the first Festival of Sanctuary was a huge success, with the foyer filled with music, laughter and activity. We’ll be holding this year’s Festival of Sanctuary on Tuesday 20 June from 10.30am – 5pm (drop in anytime). All events are free to attend. Lunch is available on a pay what you want basis for a limited number of people.
This will be a day of free activities to celebrate the 2023 theme of Compassion. With music, dance, storytelling, food, crafts, and a special performance of Together Land by Oasis One World Choir. View the schedule here.
Throughout the year we welcome sanctuary seekers to the performances and offer support in accessing the theatre, alongside Sanctuary Sessions where asylum seekers, refugees and their supporters join us for free, interactive workshop sessions.
